Climate Alliance lobbies the European institutions to achieve better framework conditions for local authorities and the success of their efforts in mitigating climate change.
Climate Alliance runs a permanent secretariat in Brussels. Ms Pirita Lindholm represents the Climate Alliance at the European Commission and the European Parliament, and at all European-level initiatives and events.
Climate Alliance also publishes opinions on EU legislative documents in relation to its fields of action like energy and transport.

Covenant of Mayors
The European Commission held an official consultation on the Covenant of Mayors document until 30 April 2008. Based on the feedback of its members, Climate Alliance prepared Recommendations on the Covenant of Mayors 
(190KB).
Green Paper on Urban Mobility
In September 2007, the European Commission published the Green Paper on urban transport (
“Towards a new culture for urban mobility”).
Climate Alliance participated in the consultation process and submitted an opinion based on the remarks of the members during several events held on the theme:
